New House - Warwickshire

Carefully arranged to make best use of the sun

This new farmhouse on a hilltop site in open country was to appear as if constructed in the eighteenth century by a local landowner.

The design has a deliberately restrained exterior: a central house with service wings either side of a courtyard, all executed in handmade materials.

The house is set on an axis to a distant landmark and the rooms carefully arranged to make best use of the sun and fine views from the site.

Internally the principle rooms are set around a central domed hall with dramatic stairs and landing.
